Winemaker's Notes

Bright pink hue.  Ripe strawberry notes along with delicate floral and rose petal aromas. Fruit-forward notes of fresh raspberry, strawberry, and red cherry. Pleasant mouthfeel with balanced acidity and sweetness

John's Notes

Ok, I have to admit that I was a little reluctant to try Snoop Dogg’s 19 Crimes Cali Rosé. There are of course exceptions, but I’ve been disappointed with too many celebrity collaboration wines to even list them.  That said, I was pleasantly surprised here – yes, I enjoyed this bottle!

A beautiful bright pink, Snoop’s Cali Rosé 2020 features lifted aromas of strawberries and raspberries plus a touch of white flower blossom. The palate accordingly leads with those same juicy strawberries and raspberries coupled with blackberry, and pomegranate plus nice structural acidity and a touch of sweetness.  Simple, fruity, and too easy to drink on a sunny spring weekend

Nerdy Details

Winemaker: 19 Crimes

  • 19 Crimes is defiant by nature, bold in character and always uncompromising. This spirit lives on today through innovators and culture creators, like Cali’s own Snoop Dogg. A leader in contemporary pop culture, Snoop embodies the timeless values of the 19 Crimes rogues who came before him
  • 19 Crimes is a brand that was built on authentic stories of rebellion, defiance, loyalty and perseverance. In 1788, banishment to Australia from the UK became the punishment of choice. If you broke any one of the 19 Crimes, you sailed on a harrowing journey to Australia where months later your fate awaited

Variety:  75% Zinfandel, 20% Grenache, 5% Pinot Noir

Region: California, USA

  • Climate in California is less about latitude and more about the extent to which various cooling influences affect the vineyards
  • In some locations, California’s valleys act as a funnel for the cold Pacific Ocean air to reach sites far inland. That cold air, often accompanied by fog, can significantly lower nighttime temperatures.  In addition, it can take several hours to burn off the fog which accordingly extends the cooling influence well into the daylight hours
  • In other locations, the coastal mountains shield the vineyards from the cooling effects of the Pacific Ocean. Vineyards with no such cooling exposure (e.g. Central Valley) have a much hotter, drier climate that typically requires irrigation

  • Maturation: stainless steel tanks
  • pH: 3.14
  • RS: 28.0 g/L
  • Bottling date: February 2021

Alcohol:  10.5%

Pairs Well With:  Raspberry cake, soft cheeses, strawberry tortes
