Made in the Valpolicella Classica region from a blend using the traditional Veronese grapes: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara

Winemaker's Notes

Medium intensity cherry red.  Intense bouquet with ripe cherry aromas. Fresh with good acidity, soft and silky tannins. Cherries are the dominant flavor, with hints of vanilla

John's Notes

After successfully featuring the 2018 vintage, it was a no brainer to get some of the newest release.  Masi’s Bonacosta Valpolicella Classico 2019 presents enticing aromas and flavors of red cherry, tart strawberry, raspberry, and cranberry followed by hints of violet, cinnamon, and garden herbs. Still young, this bottle opens up considerably after decanting for 30 – 60 minutes

  • The Masi story began in 1772, when the Boscaini family acquired prestigious vineyards in the small valley called “Vaio dei Masi”, which is the origin of the company’s name
  • After more than 200 years of passionate winemaking the company is still in family hands, run by the sixth and seventh generation

  • Veneto has a warm continental climate with an average growing season temperature of 65 – 70°F as moderated by the cooling influence from altitude, the Alps, Lake Garda, and the Adriatic Sea


  • Bonacosta is at the foot of the hillside vineyards in the classico zone, which is richer in top-soil and benefits from soft valley breezes
  • The Boscaini family has selected the best vineyard sites in the foothills and hilly areas in Valpolicella. Particular attention has been paid to the enhancement of individual sites (cru vineyards) that express the excellence of the area and from which wines with unique personalities can be produced
  • Valpolicella Classica is a valley that is subdivided into three constituent valleys: Negrar, Marano and Fumane, each scored by its eponymous torrent, all tributaries to the Adige River that laps its southern limits
  • Its territory, mainly hilly, extends north of Verona, to the foothills of the Veronese Prealps. Lake Garda is its western border, and the Lessini Mountains provide protection to the east and north
  • Vegan Friendly: Masi does not use any animal by-products or allergy causing products in the wine production
