Winemaker's Notes

Our elegant Rosé has vibrant flavors of strawberries, raspberries, and Meyer lemon with aromatic notes of fragrant white florals

John's Notes

Aromas of fresh strawberries mingle with red raspberries and white flower blossoms, plus hints of orange peel and minerality. The palate leads with those same red fruits and flowers, then adds a touch of black pepper backed by mouthwatering acidity.  A clean, fresh, easy to enjoy Rosé. Definitely worth a try

Nerdy Details

Winemaker: McBride Sisters

  • Unaware that the other existed, half-sisters Robin and Andrea were raised in wine regions of California and New Zealand; independently developing an appreciation for the craft of winemaking
  • They eventually found each other, and since 2005, The McBride Sisters’ mission has become clear—to transform the industry, lead by example, and cultivate community, one delicious glass of wine, at a time
  • Over time, McBride Sisters has grown into what is not only the largest Black-owned wine company in the United States, but one of the most inclusive, accessible, socially aware and sustainable.  Black Girl Magic is more than a phrase. It’s a feeling. A look. A taste. Our Black Girl Magic collection is an ode to our culture and story, inspired by the magic and resilience of Black women, to be enjoyed by all

Variety:  Pinot Noir, Syrah

Region: Central Coast, California

Climate/Vintage:

  • Climate/Vintage: Cooled by ocean air running through gaps in coastal mountain ranges, the Central Coast is large and diverse, and includes sub-regions such as the Monterey, San Luis Obispo, and Paso Robles
  • Unique to the Central Coast wine region is the wide array of soil compositions that allow growers to plant vines in the climate and soil that will reliably produce the finest characteristics. The marine sediment and dense, clay-based soils all show their influence in the flavor profiles of the wine they produce

Viticulture/Winemaking:

  • Carefully selected from across three California AVAs, the grapes were whole cluster pressed with minimal skin contact and fermented in stainless steel
  • There was no malolactic fermentation in the winemaking and the wine was cold settled and filtered prior to bottling
  • RS: 0.3 g/L
  • pH: 3.34

Alcohol:  13.0%

Pairs Well With: Turkey, arugula and swiss on whole wheat, strawberries, grilled fish
